WAOK.TV Kids Club IMPORTANT UPDATE!  We have outgrown the space at St. Titus Church in Durham  rather quickly. Kids need space!  We  are seeking a new location. In addition, we are restructuring Wrap Around Our Kids to be more of a "family program"  with group activities , outings and events to include both parents & kids.  During this restructure  we will not have a regular Saturday schedule during the remainder of 2012.

We will, however,  continue to have TV participation opportunities.  These TV film opportunities will be announced well in advance. 

The objective of the  Wrap Around Our Kids program is  to promote reading and literacy enrichment. We provide essential  books, such as the Dictionaries and Thesauruses, which help develop  the vocabulary and confidence needed when participating on the WAOK.TV  Internet TV channel, which will be fully operational in April 2013.

 In addition, when children participate in "scripted video public service messages" they develop  key social literacy skills. If  you would like for your children to participate in upcoming fun WAOK.TV participation opportunities , we will now require a "BEE-havior contract ".  This is so that every child clearly understands,  from both the parent and WAOK.TV staff , that it is important to practice cooperation, teamwork,  and fairness  with fellow Wrap Around our Kids Club youth members  at all times.

We truly appreciate our Wrap Around Our Kids Families.  Please mark your Calendars for Saturday, December 15^th. Stop by W.D. Hill Recreation Center, at 1308 Fayetteville St, Durham, NC ,  for our pre-Christmas celebration, from  10-12 noon.   We will be  giving away goody bags, books for the kids , and warm spiced cider and treats!   We will also have Dictionaries and Thesauruses, if your child did not already  receive both!

When we help our kids stampede to read, we all succeed.  The best is yet to come!
